Software for the people who actually run the school

Most of a school's software burden falls on a handful of people: the office staff who chase documents, the class teacher marking attendance between periods, and the accounts desk reconciling receipts at the end of the day.

EduTask is organised around those jobs. Attendance is a one-screen task rather than a form. The daily diary is filled in per class per day and rolls up into a compliance report, so the head of school can see which classes have not submitted without asking anyone.

Access is granted per role — administrator, teacher, accounts, library, transport, hostel, security — so each person opens the platform to their own work rather than to a menu of things they are not permitted to touch.

Questions

How is this different from a student information system?

A student information system holds records. This also runs the operations around them — collecting fees, marking attendance, scheduling classes, covering absent teachers and issuing certificates.

Can teachers use it on a phone?

Yes. There are Android and iOS apps for staff and students covering attendance, diary, notices and results. Parents are reached over WhatsApp, SMS and email rather than a separate app.

Can we control what each role sees?

Yes. Every role carries an explicit permission set, so a teacher cannot open fee collection and an accounts user cannot alter examination marks unless you grant it.

What happens at the end of an academic year?

Students are promoted into the next class or year in one operation, and the previous year's records stay intact and reportable.
