Software that institutions run on

A school office does not get to work around a bug. Attendance is taken at 8 a.m. whether or not the page loads, fees are receipted the day they are paid, and results go out on a date that was fixed months ago. That is the standard the work here is held to, and it is most of what there is to say about working at EduTask.

What the work is

Backend engineering

Laravel 11 with a database per institution, three parallel modules kept in sync, and the parts that cannot be got wrong — fee collection, examination results and attendance. Careful schema work and migrations that run against live tenant data.

Frontend engineering

Vue 3, TypeScript and Vuetify against an interface that a school clerk uses eight hours a day. Speed and clarity beat novelty here: a list that takes four seconds to load is a bug, not a preference.

Mobile

The Android and iOS apps parents and students use, against the same APIs the web app runs on. Push notifications, offline tolerance on poor connections, and screens that work on a five-year-old phone.

Implementation and support

Getting an institution from spreadsheets to a running workspace: importing records, configuring classes, fees and grading, training staff, and answering the questions that follow in English, Hindi or Gujarati.
